Project Spotlight: A Koo De Kir Tranquil Townhouse

Posted on

Most of the time keeping it simple and paying homage to the classics pays off.

Very much so in the case of this Boston townhouse by design studio, Koo De Kir, founded by Kristine Irving.

Leading into the holidays we wanted somewhat of a palette refresh with holiday decorating being on the forefront of our screens – this is one of our favorite spaces that keeps it modern, calming, and fresh.

Let’s dive into this space as a new start to the weekend

Living + Sitting Rooms:

All we want to do is curl up on this Womb Chair by the fire, and our eyes are loving the fiery-colored objects placed beside the flames.

This space proves that neutrals don’t have to be boring but instead can create a tranquil environment. Plus you can’t beat a tucked away monochromatic minibar (say that three times fast).

The layered look in the living room really adds dimension, even choosing to stack the picture frames in the way they did is fantastic. The Ethnicraft Coffee Table (sadly discontinued) above doesn’t look too shabby either. If you’re looking for a similar style, the Flat Coffee Table by Ethnicraft offers a similar shape and function.

Every corner of the space has some treasure or art tucked into it, flowers and neutrals remaining the constant thread. The clean lines of the Strut fit right in.

Kitchen:

Different materials, textures, and greenery really help the minimalism in the kitchen’s design pop. We spy Saarinen Chairs and a Saarinen Table getting some sun.

Bathroom:

Some whimsy is introduced in the bathroom with the joyful pufferfish wallpaper. If you enjoyed this, find more of Koo De Kir’s wonderful work here.
