This year for the South End Holiday Stroll we decided to give the people what they want – a holiday market! All the positives of an outdoor market but with the perks of … not freezing your you-know-what off.
If you’re unfamiliar with the SE Holiday Stroll, its basically a big neighborhood party where our neighbors fill their stores with special guests, holiday treats, and help you get into the spirit.
We’ve partnered with local artisans whose products we adore and we’re so excited to bring them all together for a special night of shopping. But before the 5th, we thought that they deserve an introduction.
Let’s meet the lineup
MYRTH Ceramics is an Allston-based ceramics studio owned by husband and wife, Eric & Abigail Smallwood.
The duo opened their private production studio after many years studying with mentor Darrell Finnegan in Boston’s South End. They specialize in hand thrown stoneware vessels that blend modern design lines with calm, natural inspired finishes.
Somerville-based Chocolatiers Elaine and Catharine have been friends since 1999, but decided to open EHChocolatier in 2010, growing their companionship into a love of working together in the kitchen.
Now their lives revolve around making beautiful and delicious confections – no detail too small. They’ve been named “Best Chocolate” in Boston Magazine, “Best Chocolate in the U.S.” by Food and Wine, listed by Fodor’s Travel as one of the “Best American Chocolate Shops,” been named “Best in the Box” by the New York Times.
Heart Grown Wild is a Vermont-based organic plant-based skin and hair care brand founded by SantaLena Groves. Groves acts as their master alchemist crafting products with a strong foundation, knowledge and connection with plants.
It is her intention to bring that connection to the outside world into your daily self-care routines.
AREA is a New York-based company specializing in bedding and homeware made only from natural fibers. Swedish founder Anki Spets started AREA in 1990 to continue the Scandinavian tradition of good design for everyday.
Spets’ experience with the fast turnover in the fashion industry led her to design more consciously – now a master of creating original designs made for long-lasting beauty and comfort.
Thayer Design Studio is a South Boston based design studio founded by artist and product designer, Meredith Thayer. She specializes in interior design and creating products that are authentic and unique, like her braided woven textiles: custom rugs, storage baskets, and ottomans. All her designs are custom made to order in Rhode Island!
Thayer’s philosophy is all about crafting well-balanced designs and in turn a thoughtful home, creating the foundation for happier living.
