Just this week we got to witness a vintage Egg Chair and vintage upholstered Series 7 grace our showroom floor for our Boston Design Week event, Then & Now (head to our FB for some of our favorite shots) so we couldn’t be more excited to see some more Fritz Hansen artistry with the opening of their new showroom in China.
Located in Xi’an, it’s the biggest store the brand has ever had – taking up 1,000 square-meters (around 10,800 sq ft for those meter-averse). We wanted to share the first images of the space because they’re beautiful, plus we’re looking to see if we could have an eternal sleepover there … for the rest of our lives.
Let’s dive in
“When I entered [the space] for the first time, it was like a temple, it’s so high, you’ve got this possibility to express yourself in an interesting way. I used the industrial gut of it to contrast to the softness and the beauty and the organic shapes that we created inside.”

This new gallery is equipped with high ceilings that are balanced with warm-hued walls and vaulted walkways.
The layout is breaking molds of typical retail and follows more-so of a labyrinth – with intimate vignettes clustered in 14 small living-room environments.
Downstairs focuses on warm fall-tones like rich sage or cranberry, with the second floor outfitted in more netural tones.
