With the annual Gus* Modern Summer Sale kicking off last week, we wanted to put together a little guide to help you navigate the brand’s newest and best. We’ve touched on Gus*’s sustainable prowess in the past and even collaborated with them on furnishing the interiors of a restored historic Cape House this year, right before the world changed a bit (okay, a lot).
From fabric updates on some of their bestsellers to recent designs embracing the feminine aspects of modernism, we’re excited to offer some insider info on what we’re crushing on and even what we personally use in our homes.
Here are our picks
The New Releases:
A new sofa frame with a low profile and large cushions, consisting of the same great Gus* insides: 100% FSC-certified wood and PET fill. A minimalist dream, making us miss the east-side of LA it pays homage to.
The new Elora Collection includes this media stand, an end table, and a cabinet, and may be the frontrunner of new releases. The media stand features three storage sections, each with an adjustable shelf.
A modular addition to the Gus* family, the Circuit Modular Sofa is their first feminine silhouette with endless configurations thanks to hidden connectors. We’re partial to the Himalayan Cloud fabric above.
A bestseller for years, the Mix Modular Sectional is now available in Vegan AppleSkin™ Leather. This vegan leather is a new, eco-friendly material created by upcycling discarded fruit fiber (peels and cores) from Italian orchards. It’s available in two colorways, the above Cognac, as well as and Licorice.
We’ve written articles about the lovely Margot, and she’s one of the pieces that live in multiple Lekker homes. Incredibly comfortable and the perfect size for apartment living, plus the French seams and thin metal legs (coming in black or brass) give the perfect dose of casual elegance.
One of the most traditionally-infused pieces in the lineup, this fully upholstered bed with solid wood legs, has a tall headboard to keep you cozy while centering the room with elegance.
The Versatile Pieces:
An under-the-radar design for sure, the Timber Table is another piece that has infiltrated the likes of everyone’s homes. An accent table that fits in any room, the 1/4″ clear acrylic is a layer of defense against the occasional beverage that finds itself atop the surface without a coaster. The edges are even flame-polished for a smooth, safer finish.
An entryway hero in the form of an ottoman, this bench and storage hideaway is the perfect place to kick off those shoes after a long day and offer a transition after you arrive home from a long day of social distancing.
The WFH Essentials:
A more permanent solution to a remote work setup that can keep your workspace organized is, without a doubt, the Branch 2 Shelving unit series. All the shelves are height adjustable, and you can piece together units to make its presence as small or as large as you want. In case you couldn’t guess, we’re fans of the black on black.
If you’re still in the market for WFH chair that doesn’t look like one, the upholstered tub seat of the Radius Task Chair gives you the best of both worlds, even coming with casters and stationary feet.
